GENERAL INFORMATION
Poland has been a member of the European Union since 2004 and has a visa-free agreement with Ukraine. According to this regime, Ukrainians can enter the territory of Poland with a biometric passport and stay here for up to 90 days.
However, due to the emergency, the stay of all citizens of Ukraine who arrived legally on the territory of the Republic of Poland in connection with the military operations in Ukraine and declared their intention to stay in Poland is considered legal for 18 months, starting from February 24, 2022.
Polish border guards admit all persons with any identity document, international passport, domestic passport, driver’s license, or birth certificate (of a child). If you do not have an ID, you will also be allowed to enter, but it will take longer (there is a need to verify your identity). Persons without passports are included in the stay procedure “With the consent of the head of the border service”, i.e., 15 days of legal stay. During this time, you can apply for a stay in Poland or an application for international protection.
